The Challenge
Nike approached Trillblazin, an apparel company focused on basketball beyond the court, to create a launch event for unveiling of the Portland Trail Blazer's 'Blazermania' City Edition jersey with a goal of driving community energy, awareness and affinity.
My Role
Creative direction, strategy, art direction, event curation.
The Vision
With the idea of City Edition jerseys being a yearly canvas for NBA teams, we came up with a gallery-style unveiling event, featuring prominent local artists and live merch customization. To do that, we reached out to specific artists in the community to use 'Blazermania' jerseys as their canvas for this special one night only event. Their fans felt inspired to attend and share ahead of the jersey unveiling — building suspense and aligning Nike and their new product with respected artists. As a plus-up, we worked with Nike to create interactive customization in real time — attendees could live print custom graphics on merch made exclusively for the event.
